As a child, I always found myself drawn to mysticism, the occult, personality tests, and anything that could help me answer the age old questions: “Who am I?" and “Why am I the way that I am?” If only there were a manual that could help me make sense of how I fit into this world. It took me over two decades to find my way to astrology, but since it entered my life, I have never been the same. Learning the language of my soul has quite literally been life-saving. When my dad passed away unexpectedly in 2022 at the age of 58, my life began to fall apart. I had no idea then the support that this sacred science would give me, and keep on giving me, every time I turned to it.

What was it about this ancient practice that was so appealing to me? The layers, the depth, the specificity, the endless potential for self-actualization? The answer is all of it. I was immediately hooked and wanted everyone else to be too. Here is how I like to pitch astrology to those new to the practice:

What if, when you were born–at the exact day, month, year, time, and place, your soul was encoded with a one-of-a-kind hardware based on where the planetary bodies sat in the sky above you and how their specific energies combined and reacted to one another? What if each and every planet, star, asteroid, and luminary body, was representative of a part of the human existence? What if the phrase, “as above, so below”, was more than just a nice thought?

Wouldn’t you be curious to understand YOUR own unique coding? Not your fixed destiny, or pre-determined personality. But rather, a best practices guide to life! One that teaches you how to work WITH your divine energy, rather than trying to fit into the homogenous mold that society sets us up to grow into. That is what astrology has revealed itself to be to me.

Trying to rebuild a sense of self after decades of conditioning, all amidst my own identity crisis after losing my Dad, has been disorienting, to say the least. For as long as I can remember, life was magical because He was in it, and when he suddenly wasn’t, I felt like a lost soul. Over the past three years, I have spent countless hours pondering my dad’s life and impact on mine. Anyone who had ever crossed his path felt like they were the most important person in the world. He was a magician in the most holistic sense of the word–creating magic everywhere he went, leaving a sparkle in every heart he touched. Over time, I have come to feel strongly that, though his physical body is no longer with us, his soul, energy, love, are alive and well.

As the daughter of the Magician, I have always known that I want to touch lives the way he did, and that I want to do it sustainably. Meaning, giving unconditionally without giving everything I have and leaving my cup totally empty. I quickly realized that in order to do this for others, I had to be willing to do it for myself, first. I had to really know me, all of my limits, triggers, and fears, and I had to love each and every part of me before I could take on the responsibility of helping others experience that unconditional love.

Building self-esteem is hard when you have felt small for a lot of your life. It becomes difficult to claim power, talents, gifts, etc. when voices in your life or head tell you you’re not worthy. Getting to know my birth chart has forced me to see myself from an objective perspective. I can no longer hide behind my insecurities when I have cosmic proof that I am capable of living out my divine purpose! And what i’ve discovered has shocked me: every part of me, even the parts that I am ashamed of, are important. Every part of me works together to form one big picture. Every part of me deserves to take up space and to have its needs met. Astrology has helped me do that.
